The Chinese love snacking (don’t we all) and potato crisps/chips are very, very popular here and are sold everywhere. The US manufacturer Lay’s Chips (Walker’s Crisps in the UK) is one of the biggest brands in the market, and has developed some varieties specifically for China; including Beijing Duck flavour; 5 Spice Fish flavour, Spicy Crab flavour, Blueberry flavour, Numb & Spicy Hotpot flavour, and Cucumber flavour.
Now they have really excelled themselves. Lay’s Chips has joined forces with Pepsi Cola* to develop the flavour everyone has been waiting for, namely
PEPSI-COLA- CHICKEN FLAVOR CHIPS
Don’t you think that is a stunning idea? Combining the over-sweet cola flavour of Pepsi with the flavour of chinese stir-fried chicken and using the result to coat thin slices of deep-fried potato. How did we live without it?
All the flavour convenience of a meal and a beverage in one packet, minus the fizz. It takes junk food to a whole new level.
* I was not totally surprised to discover that Pepsi Cola and Lay’s Chips are both part of the giant food conglomerate PepsiCo.

Now if it had been Diet Coke you’d have thought you’d died and gone to heaven…
