This year is the Year of the Snake, and more specifically, the Year of the Water Snake.

The snake is the 6th animal in the Chinese zodiac, and like all the other animals, the Snake years occur on a 12 year cycle; so if you were born in 1941, 1953, 1965, 1977, 1989, 2001 you are a Snake.  But Water (or Black) Snake Years happen less frequently – the last one was 1953.  People born in Snake years are described as being quick thinking, intelligent, intuitive and introspective with an innately refined and elegant personality.  They can be charming and have excellent communication skills.  Highly efficient and well organised, they work quickly and quietly.  Water Snakes are particularly connected with learning, research  and intellectual pursuits.                                                                                                 On the negative side, because they will not settle for mediocrity they can be ostentatious at times. They may use deception to get what they want if they think they will get away with it. They can become easily stressed and this can have a detrimental effect on their health.  Snake people are particularly compatible with Ox and Rooster people.

I’m a Snake – makes me smile to see how many things are right, even though I’m not in the least ostentatious!! Happy New year!

Ni hao Kit – so glad to hear from a Water Snake! This is a special year for you according to the Chinese pundits….what I didn’t put in my blog post is that sometime this year you will meet your ‘Lucky Star’, this could be a person or a situation. You must be alert for it and it will bring great advantages! So envious about your proposed trip to Grootbos – enjoy every minute! Jo
